Your home in the Italian Countryside

At the heart of our 120-acre working farm is a beautifully restored stone farmhouse. Its central tower dates back to the 12th century, when it was first used as a lookout in this wild and rural territory. Over the next 900 years, additions were slowly made to the structure, until the 19th century when it reached its current configuration. Since then, Pulicaro has not been touched except for our recent renovations, in which we cautiously preserved the history and character of the building.

With 9 newly renovated guest rooms, we offer traditional two-person rooms as well as larger suites for up to seven guests, complete with living rooms and kitchenettes stocked with cooking essentials.

A TRUE FARM-TO-TABLE EXPERIENCE

All stays at Pulicaro include breakfast in our farm-to-table restaurant, prepared with organic ingredients from our farm and neighbors. Enjoy fresh goat milk yogurt, seasonal jams, cakes baked in-house, and more.

We offer Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch each week in our restaurant, featuring traditional dishes prepared by Marco and Chiara using organic, seasonal ingredients. Additional meals are available upon request based upon the season, and a shared outdoor barbecue is also provided so that you can enjoy your own preparations of our meats, eggs, and other products if you wish.

OUR COMMITMENT TO NATURE

Our philosophy of environmentalism extends to every facet of our business, so we minimize our impact on the environment by using solar panels and firewood to generate renewable electricity for the farm and the farmhouse, including our hot water and heating systems. We are also committed to eliminate single-use plastics from our guesthouse. In an effort to maintain responsible water usage, we do not have a swimming pool. For those who would like a refreshing dip outside, we highly recommend making the short trip (about 30 minutes by car) to Lake Bolsena, or you are welcome as our guests to visit the nearby recreation center’s swimming pool just a few minutes away from the farm.
